# Z-Anatomy model: attribution and licenses

The model on this page is for study and reference. Its source is [Z-Anatomy: Models of human anatomy](https://github.com/Z-Anatomy/Models-of-human-anatomy), pinned at commit `e38ea5e6c7e22d229a975f3fde563a5aca52099e`. The [upstream License.txt](LICENSE-source.txt) lists the original authors and sources for the models and definitions. This page is not endorsed by those authors.

The inner-ear and kidney assets are separate files. The page loads them with the nervous and sensory system and the visceral system, respectively. Auditory ossicles classified under the skeletal system in the source and intrarenal vessels classified under the cardiovascular system are also placed in these separate files. Their non-commercial restrictions still apply; adaptations of the inner-ear asset must also be shared alike. The upstream `.blend` file does not label licenses per object, so the files were conservatively separated by name. This classification does not establish the exact author of every matching object.

## Changes for this page

We extracted renderable human meshes and curves from the upstream `Startup.blend`, split them by system and by the two submodels, and converted curves to meshes. Before removing helper curves, we baked array and curve deformations into the meshes so structures such as the spinal cord white matter follow the medulla path inside the vertebral canal. Empty meshes, text, and Blender editing helpers were removed. Mesh node names were replaced for web picking, with a mapping to the original English names. The GLB files use Draco compression.

Atlas colors from the source node groups were converted to glTF linear base colors, and an incorrectly exported white emissive color was removed. Very dark cartoon base colors were brightened without changing their hue. The page displays the same colors in sRGB and makes fascia translucent in the overview and more opaque when selected. The original `.blend` was not modified. Export scripts, source hashes, GLB hashes, and the object catalog are in this repository's `anatomy/` directory and `catalog.json`.

Use of this page remains subject to each asset's original license. Commercial use requires a renewed review of the inner-ear and kidney terms or replacement of those assets.

## Project-generated TCM candidate overlay

Meridian curves and acupuncture point markers were generated separately by this project. They are not native Z-Anatomy structures and are not endorsed by its authors or by standards bodies. Known positioning errors remain; the interface withholds some affected geometry, and a full medical review has not been completed. Anatomy opacity is a display control and does not modify source meshes.

Location text uses unreviewed OCR of GB/T 12346-2021, Nomenclature and location of meridian points. Reading excerpts from Liu Shaoyi’s 《经络腧穴原始》 are versioned separately, with candidate status, OCR line ranges and scan indices where available. Scan indices are not printed page numbers. Chinese excerpts shown in the English interface have not been translated. These texts have their own sources and rights; the anatomy model licenses do not grant equivalent rights to the book text.
